Satellite TV uplink systems

Satellite TV uplink systems installed in the seven north-eastern states for Doordarshan. These terminals were designed, procured, integrated and commissioned by us and are probably the only ones entrusted to a private sector organisation in India.

We at Trans-Image Corporation are proud to have executed this demanding assignment, and this required :

Trans-Image has installed a nationwide, Digital Audio Delivery System through satellite enabling All India Radio to transmit programmes from its headquarters in New Delhi to 20 major terrestrial broadcast transmitters located as far away as the Andamans, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala and Rajasthan.
The audio signal, encoded in the MPEG format to ensure 20 KHz CD quality, is fed to a modulator and then on to the up converter, power amplifier and finally through a transmit antenna to an INSAT satellite. At the receive end, a matching MPEG, decoder-cum-Demodulator receiver obtains the signal through a 6 metre dish antenna for broadcast on terrestrial Short Wave, Medium Wave or FM Radio.

VHF Communication System

Installation of a VHF Communication System for the Government of Rajasthan. Our team of engineers has battled difficult terrain, hostile weather conditions, extreme temperatures & virtually non-existent roads to commission a VHF, communication system spread over 10,000 sq km.

We conducted a radio propagation survey over the entire area to determine the heights of the towers necessary to obtain complete radio coverage. The design of the towers and guyed masts, going upto 45 m, were commissioned by our company. Their fabrication and erection were done entirely under the supervision and guidance of our technical team. Stations as far apart as 200 km have been connected by a unique multi repeater system, working in narrow frequency band

Digital Cyclone Warning and Dissemination System:

Trans-Image has designed, installed & commissioned a Satellite based Digital Cyclone Warning & Dissemination system for India Meteorological Department (IMD) under world bank contract.The system is controlled at Chennai where the Earth Station is located. This Earth Station, designed, configured and installed by Trans-Image comprises of MPEG Digital Audio encoders PSK Modulator, Upconverter, 400W RFT and 3.8 Mtr PDA with Network Management System.

Currently the system interacts with 100 stations located along coastal Andhra Pradesh which were also installed by Trans-Image. The remote stations have a unique feature of receiving and sounding alarms and audio messages in local language / dialect. A text acknowledgement is also sent over INSAT system confirming receipt of warning at remote location(s).

Old Captive Earth Station of All India Radio at Guwahati, Itanagar and Shillong have been upgraded by us. New Generation analog and MPEG Digital Audio uplink station equipment have been supplied, installed commissioned by us, resulting in a substantial improvement in the program quality. All uplink equipment are controlled and monitored by a NMS developed in house.
